Network Operating Centre (NOC)
The Network Operations Centre (NOC) plays a crucial role in managing and monitoring various infrastructure components, with responsibilities encompassing the following:
Reporting
The NOC provides weekly and monthly updates to clients on the status of energy and water meters, streetlights, and high masts. Reports are customizable to meet client specifications.
Loss Calculation
By measuring consumption at the source and at output points like luminaires and meter houses, the NOC can accurately assess distribution losses.
Maintenance Management
The NOC oversees the repair of faulty energy and water meters, streetlight and high mast luminaires, including the management of spare parts inventory. Faulty equipment is reported to maintenance teams via electronic job cards compatible with Android or Apple devices.
Job-Card Tracking
The NOC tracks all issued job cards from issuance to completion, ensuring repairs are carried out efficiently and verified upon completion.
Remote Control Functions
The NOC has the capability to remotely switch on/off or dim street- lights and high masts, assist with broader energy management strategies, and control the shut-off of energy and water meters.
Data Management
Daily data backups and disaster recovery management are integral to maintaining the integrity and availability of critical monitoring data.
